The Ford Supply Chain team adds critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us build strong mutually beneficial relationships with a diverse range of suppliers, source the highest quality parts from around the globe and progress toward our sustainability goals, while ensuring optimal cost and on‑time delivery.
You’ll be the lead of establishing a robust exterior glass supply base so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want and value and will be a major contributor to Ford's overall success.
What You'll Do- Know the exterior glass commodity parts and understand cost drivers to deliver cost targets
- Develop, maintain, and execute the glass Commodity Business Plan (CBP) strategy
- Foster professional and healthy supplier partnerships
- Lead, plan, develop, and implement supplier commercial negotiations
- Work effectively with cross‑functional teams regionally and/or globally
- Quote, negotiate and source suppliers for the purchase price of production parts, and tooling
- Complete sourcing activities and recommend suppliers for new program lamps
- Establish and implement sourcing strategy for exterior glass (i.e., windshields, backlites, roof glass, etc.)
- Assist in the resolution of cost, quality, and delivery issues affecting the supply
- Support GCT Buyers in both Service and Production and cross‑functional partners to develop strategies and implement solutions
- Identify and implement cost reductions
- Negotiate cost avoidances for suppliers requesting cost increases
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering or related field of study
- 2‑3+ years of purchasing experience focused on Glass commodity or 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, and/or sourcing experience with general automotive purchasing
- Previous Purchasing experience with glass, electrical, mechanical, or physical components
- Ability to work onsite 4‑days per week in the Dearborn, MI area for a hybrid model
- Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering or related field of study
- 5+ years of purchasing experience focused on Glass commodity
- Human Center Design Thinking
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and analyze data to enable operational decision‑making
- Ability to conduct sourcing evaluations / business case studies and present clear recommendations to leadership
- Ability to build network relationships with cross‑functional skill teams (PD, STA, finance, and OGC)
- Project management skills and process discipline

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
