DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORKThis position is responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of vehicles for an assigned area. Responsibilities may include determining repair needs; performing various repairs; and maintaining equipment.
TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Performs inspections, checks, and tests to determine repair needs of engine, electrical, brake, heating, axle, suspension, and related components of trucks, automobiles, equipment, and engines.
- Repairs engine, electrical, brake, heating, axle, suspension, and related components of trucks, automobiles, equipment, and engines.
- Performs standard welding and cutting of push bars, mounts, and related vehicles and equipment.
- Maintains tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Performs data entry, work orders, electronic diagnosis, and shop operation input.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, including attendance at required meetings.
