About the Position
The role of the Field Coordinator will be to provide leadership, direction, and development to staff and members, and coordinate key initiatives within the internal or external organizing department. Under the direction of union leadership, the Field Coordinator will lead and develop a team of organizers to conduct strategic and impactful campaigns and to establish effective member leader structures in order to engage new employees, defend contracts, and maintain clear communication with all members.
The Field Coordinator will oversee multiple complex collective bargaining agreements and support the development of others to lead successful contract campaigns.

- Supervise a team of Organizers to ensure that a successful field campaign is central to the strategic organizing efforts, while developing and executing a personal monthly/quarterly work plan.
- Create a strategic campaign calendar to meet campaign goals, and lead the execution of campaigns in collaboration with staff across union departments and districts.
- Lead curriculum development and coordinate/run organizing team meetings and training sessions.
- Work with the leadership team and the organizing department to identify and interview union members for Member Organizing Brigades.
- Support the team’s development in organizing, leadership, and other relevant skills.
- Build effective external relationships within the communities we are organizing, as well as strengthen relationships.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- In-depth understanding of non-union worker organizing with five to seven years of organizing experience, including strategic campaign planning and supervision of Organizers.
- Proven supervisory experience, with the ability to create accountability, measure performance, and develop staff.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with effective presentation abilities.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn and utilize organizing software and apps.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, including union staff at all levels.
- A deep passion for social and economic justice issues.
- Bilingual skills are a plus (Spanish, French, Arabic)
- Experience working in the healthcare field;
- Experience with external organizing campaigns;
- Experience leading a bargaining table;
- Experience leading a contract campaign;
- Knowledge of union history, organization, and strategy.
