The Director will supervise the Housekeeping Supervisor and the entire housekeeping team, ensuring a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be an experienced leader who can effectively manage multiple teams and priorities while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Knowledge and understanding of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) regulations and environmental services requirements is highly preferred and will be very helpful in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and support the Housekeeping Supervisor and all housekeeping staff, ensuring effective staffing, scheduling, and coverage across both Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing.

  • Oversee housekeeping operations for approximately 80 Assisted Living beds and 80 Skilled Nursing beds, including resident rooms, offices, common areas, public spaces, and other facility areas.

  • Develop, plan, and implement comprehensive cleaning programs for both levels of care, including routine cleaning, annual deep cleans, move-in preparations, and specialty services such as carpet cleaning.

  • Ensure housekeeping practices meet the specific cleanliness, sanitation, infection prevention, and environmental requirements of a healthcare and Skilled Nursing environment.

  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with applicable SNF regulations, healthcare standards, OSHA, EPA, SDS/MSDS requirements, and all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Ensure all housekeeping staff receive appropriate training in cleaning procedures, infection prevention, safe chemical handling, equipment use, and workplace safety.

  • Oversee inventory management, maintaining adequate supplies, chemicals, and equipment while monitoring usage and controlling costs.

  • Develop and maintain appropriate cleaning schedules and quality-control processes to ensure consistent standards across both Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing.

  • Work collaboratively with Nursing, Maintenance, Infection Prevention, Administration, and other departments to address environmental and resident‑care needs.

  • Maintain professional and collaborative relationships with team members, vendors, residents, families, and other departments.

  • Monitor housekeeping performance and address areas requiring improvement through coaching, training, and follow-up.

  • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding proprietary, resident, employee, and other sensitive information.

  • Enforce company policies, including compliance with harassment prevention, workplace safety, infection prevention, and other applicable procedures.

  • Step in to assist housekeeping staff with cleaning tasks when necessary, demonstrating hands-on leadership and supporting the team during periods of increased workload or staffing shortages.

  • Make sound independent decisions to resolve operational issues and ensure consistent, high-quality housekeeping services.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably in a healthcare, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, or other senior living environment.

  • Experience working in or managing housekeeping/environmental services within a Skilled Nursing Facility is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of SNF regulations, infection prevention practices, environmental services standards, and healthcare regulatory requirements is highly desirable.

  • Training or experience in environmental control practices and housekeeping management.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple teams, priorities, and levels of care.

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop team members effectively.

  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated flexibility with scheduling to meet the operational demands of the role.

What We’re Looking For:
