As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love.
We are seeking a highly skilled Lean Academy and Value Stream Mapping (VSM) Leader to spearhead the development and implementation of Lean methodologies across our manufacturing facilities and diverse skill teams.
In this pivotal role…
You will leverage your skills as a strategic thinker and practitioner to translate complex Lean principles into actionable training and operational improvements. You will also be responsible for delivering monthly comprehensive training sessions to a global workforce, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Beyond classroom instruction, you will act as a primary facilitator for Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping workshops, ensuring that identified efficiencies are effectively integrated into plant and departmental operations.
Further, you will utilize your background in manufacturing leadership and a proven track record of upskilling both salaried and hourly personnel.
What You’ll Do…
- Educational Leadership: Design and execute standardized monthly Lean training modules tailored to Ford employees across manufacturing sectors and various cross-functional skill teams.
- Workshop Facilitation: Lead and facilitate intensive Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping workshops at both the plant and departmental levels to identify bottlenecks and optimize production flow.
- Strategic Implementation: Oversee the end-to-end execution of improvements identified during VSM sessions, ensuring sustained follow-through and measurable gains in operational efficiency.
- Workforce Development: Serve as a mentor and educator to a diverse workforce, effectively upskilling both hourly team members and salaried leadership in the practical application of Lean tools.
- Continuous Improvement Advocacy: Promote a rigorous Lean culture by demonstrating the direct impact of Lean applications on manufacturing performance and organizational goals.
You’ll Have…
- Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience within a manufacturing environment, demonstrating significant growth in leadership roles and Lean practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science or a closely related technical field.
- Proven mastery of Lean methodologies, with specific expertise in conducting Value Stream Mapping and facilitating high-impact Kaizen events.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and influence personnel at all levels of the organizational hierarchy.
- Ability and willingness to travel 65% or more to various Ford locations to provide on-site training and workshop facilitation.
- Exceptional instructional and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home?
