Production Supervisor

Dearborn, MI and Wentzville, MO

Daily schedule:
Monday‑Saturday. Rotating shifts (1st, 2nd or 3rd). Sometimes work Sunday.

Candidate will start on the 1st shift the first week and then be assigned. Within three weeks, required to work 7 days a week. Two Saturdays on, one Saturday off. Could work 13 days in a row at one point. If coworkers are on vacation, required to work 12‑hour shifts and cover half the shift between two people.

Shift times:

• 1st Shift: 6:00 am – 3:00 pm
• 2nd Shift: 2:00 pm – 11:00 pm
• 3rd Shift: 10:00 pm – 7:00 am

• Supervise and coordinate activities of production and operating workers.
• Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
• Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
• Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
• Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.

• Verbal communication, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.

• High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• 10+ years experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Manufacturing experience: look for union management, continuous improvement projects and stable work history.
• Union experience is a must.
• Mechanically inclined – automotive maintenance experience that supports production in the body shop is acceptable.

Flexible to work all three shifts and willing to adhere to the rotating schedule and extended work periods as described.
