We are hiring Test Technicians to work at the Body and Chassis Dyno lab in Dearborn, MI.
This position is for those with some knowledge and experience in automotive, either on the job or as a hobby.

Shift: Afternoon Shift (3pm - 11:30pm). Training will be on day shift for the first 6-8 weeks of employment.
Responsibilities- Mechanical preparation and instrumentation of subsystems and components.
- Test execution, data collection and post‑test removal of test equipment and automotive components.
- Application and installation of transducers, accelerometers, load cells, potentiometers and other electrical equipment.
- Work with vehicle suspension components and subsystems.
- Complete test‑related duties as assigned during daily scheduling meetings. Execute work independently with quality and efficiency.
- Receive parts and prepare for first run and subsequent runs according to test matrices.
- Conduct test stand sample prep, fixturing, installation/removal and photographic documentation.
- Run standard tests and support test engineers for unique one‑off testing in a lab environment.
- Run multiple test facilities simultaneously.
- Meet all workplace health and safety requirements and practices. Provide feedback and identify opportunities to improve workplace conditions.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and proper data quality achievement.
- High School Diploma.
- Proficient electrical and mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Good interpersonal, computer, oral and written skills.
- Associate’s in Automotive Technology or a combination of 2 years’ experience and college.
- Previous experience in a testing environment, including hydraulic experience, hydraulic/pneumatic system controller experience, automotive systems/sub‑system familiarization, MTS controller familiarization.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in vehicle system and subsystem‑related testing.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in vehicle lab testing.
- Proficient in MS Office and PC‑based systems.
- Knowledge of overall vehicle systems (chassis, body, seat, suspension preferred) with engine and transmission a plus.
- Fabrication experience: general machine shop (drill press, band saw, grinders, welding, mill, etc.).
- Print reading and test fixture layout/build.
- Lift up to 50 lbs (vehicle parts such as seats, doors, suspension parts, accessories) – 35% of time.
- Climb stairs – 15%.
- Wear safety glasses, slip‑resistant shoes, gloves, long pants, short sleeves – 100%.
- Work while sitting (50%), standing (50%), bending (25%), stooping (25%).
- Operate machinery: computers, analyzers – 70%; forklifts – 15%; basic hand tools – 40%.
- Work inside the lab – 100%.
- Hot and cold test chamber work – 30%.
- Hazardous conditions: rotating equipment, engines, hot exhaust, trip hazards – 100%.
- Regular attendance critical; occasional overtime and occasional weekend coverage may be required.
Must complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen, health performance evaluation, and background check.
Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co‑workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Dependent personal transportation to work site is required.
