Job Summary: As an SS Operator 1, you’ll be on the front lines providing operations and maintenance support on water treatment systems for one of our customers from a variety of industries. This mission critical role involves working on and cleaning a variety of technologies including media filtration, softening, reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange (IX), de‑oxygenation, electro deionization, and ultrafiltration (UF).
The primary duty is to unload Process Filter Presses.
Key Characteristics:
- Consult with Shift Lead and operation teams for direction
- Operate, monitor, and optimize equipment as directed
- Change and Clean Filters and other equipment / Pits
- Conduct maintenance and calibration activities
- Excellent mechanical know‑how
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Empty Process Filter Presses
- Power Wash Pits and Equipment including Confined Space Entry
- Carry out filter changes, process cleaning, and process operations as directed by Shift Leads
- Maintain site paperwork, and provide summaries of work performed
- Communicate with Shift Lead on inventory of spare parts and adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts
- Monitor and maintain systems as directed
- Perform analytical testing as directed
- Maintain a clean work area
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent
- 2+ years of service/maintenance experience or equivalent in an industrial environment
Education & Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent
Preferred:
- Bachelor or Associate Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in Instrumentation
- Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity
- Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments including industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
