Process Technician; Plastic Injection Molding -3rd Shift Lead

Commercial Tool Group (CG Plastics) is seeking a 3rd Shift Process Technician for its Comstock Park, MI facility. 3rd shift employees receive a 10% shift premium.

• Establish injection molding process on new tooling following customer standards and industry practices.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to sample requests.
• Operate and monitor automatic molding machines to ensure parts meet quality specifications.
• Inspect parts for quality defects.
• Ensure quality procedures for samples are followed (signed‑off customer, part, packaging requirements, etc.).
• Perform operator, material handler, and set‑up duties.
• Provide training to mold set‑up operators.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Execute weekly preventive maintenance (PM) with maintenance department.
• Provide production processing support.
• Troubleshoot machine issues, process and quality issues.
• Troubleshoot auxiliary equipment and automation, including robots and end‑of‑arm tooling.
• Answer press alarms to maximize press efficiencies.
• Provide feedback on quality findings and report processing problems to appropriate personnel.
• Meet all quality, quantity, and Good Manufacturing Practices to satisfy customer and regulatory requirements.
• Review paperwork for proper documentation to comply with procedures.
• Follow outlined safety standards, procedures, quality and cost standards to maintain company mission and standards.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of process technician experience required.
• A minimum of 3–5 years experience in plastic injection molding required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have good reading, writing, and numeracy skills.
• Must be reliable, demonstrate willingness to stay to get the job done.
• Requires a positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively.
