To coach and otherwise guide a team of employees to achieve optimum levels of productivity, quality and safety while meeting operational deadlines and budgets. This typically includes recruiting and hiring qualified employees and ensuring that they receive all necessary training and education. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for maintaining a high performance work environment through appropriate goal setting, operating principles, communication and fair treatment of all employees.
As necessary, the supervisor must take action to correct poor performance and poor behaviour that puts the employee or team at risk or impacts the team’s ability to achieve its objectives.
This position will be traveling between sites across the US at least 75% of the time.
Key Accountabilities:
- Oversee the launch of new products or processes in manufacturing and warehousing, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees, conducting regular safety audits and training.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on new equipment, processes and safety protocols to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Meet all production and distribution objectives and deadlines within the established budget.
- Maintain a working list of current projects and statuses. Responsible for effective record keeping, filing and other administrative duties as required.
- Warehouse experience with forklift, packaging and measuring.
- Demonstrate the ability to understand equipment and tolerances from experience and successful past performance.
- Knowledge of 6S, good housekeeping and safety standards a plus.
- Understanding building layouts and ability to implement floor striping and signage based on a CAD design / layout.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and refine manufacturing processes, ensuring optimal workflow and productivity.
- Maintain timely, effective and professional communications with all internal and external customers, contractors and suppliers.
- Prepare and present reports on launch progress, challenges and outcomes to management, offering insights for future projects.
- Having a working knowledge of CAD and how to operate a plus.
- Travel up to 75% nationally.
