Extrusion Operator

Job Summary

This position is responsible for safely assisting the Extrusion Operator in operating, loading, and servicing various types of extruding machinery. The role serves as a backup set of hands for the Extrusion Operator.

• Lift and position raw materials manually or with PIT equipment.
• Assist Operator in performing autonomous maintenance.
• Mount and position pelletizer head using hand tools.
• Blend, extrude, and size plastic pellets.
• Set and adjust controls based on specifications.
• Assist in repairs or replacements of machine parts or notify supervisors.
• Feed materials through machines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

• Ability to become forklift certified.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Requires movement throughout the plant, lifting up to 35 pounds, and operating machinery.
• Must be able to crouch, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Basic math skills required.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• 1‑year machine operator experience preferred.
