Job Description
Position Summary for the Tool Assembler: Are you ready to take your skills to the next level? We have an exciting contract opportunity for a talented Tool Assembler with a renowned aerospace company in Chesterfield, MI. This role offers a chance to work on cutting-edge projects with a team of dedicated professionals. The contract is expected to last through the end of the year, with potential for extension.
Shift Times for the Tool Assembler:
- 1st shift: 6am – 4pm (Monday – Friday)
- 2nd shift: 4:30pm – 12:30am (Monday – Friday)
Position Responsibilities for the Tool Assembler:
- Lifts, loads, sorts, and moves materials, supplies, and finished products between storage and work areas, using push-cart, hoist, or dolly.
- Assemble components accurately, thoroughly and quickly to approved specifications.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner and uses safe work habits.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and sub‑assemblies with hand tools, power tools, or bench machines.
- Inspects, tests, and verifies accuracy of assembled article for conformance to standards, using measuring or testing equipment, or by visual examination. Informs supervisors of any parts or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem.
- Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective product parts, using hand tools, power tools, or bench machines.
- Cleans dust, dirt, and other foreign matter from material or machine surfaces, using cleaning solution, rag, air hose.
- Measures and marks reference lines and points on parts according to specifications, using template, rule, or marking device.
- Cuts materials, such as fabric, metal, paper, or wood into specified dimensions or shapes, using cutting machine, scissors, or knife.
- Rotate through multiple stations on a shift to ensure maximum alertness and preparation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience for the Tool Assembler:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements for the Tool Assembler:
- Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a 'Secret' security clearance.
Other Backgrounds/titles we would also consider for this role: Machine Builder, Tool Builder, Equipment Builder, Industrial Machine Builder, Equipment Assembler, Machine Installation Technician.
