AXIS

ENGINEERING - Shipping / Receiving Clerk – Materials Department RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform all duties and operate machinery and equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, safety glasses, etc.)
  • Move levers and press pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus
  • Position forks/lifting platforms and transport loads to designated areas
  • Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device
  • Utilize overhead cranes for rigging various machines
  • Receive material and enter paperwork from suppliers
  • Be responsible for tagging incoming/outgoing freight
  • Prepare orders/stages orders for delivery
  • Set up trucks, create shippers and pull loads for shipments as requested
  • Inventory materials on work floor/shipping dock, assist putting away after material receipt
  • Weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels or production schedules
  • Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids or lifting device from various sources, from various types of vehicles (flatbed, cargo van, etc.)
  • Monitor supplier deliveries and expedite past dues
  • Organize materials in department as necessary
  • Lubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank or replace liquified gas tank
  • Utilize personal tools for assembly/disassembly of various types of machinery
  • Complete safety and operational checks daily
  • Follow and perform FIFO procedures
  • Keep work areas clean and orderly
  • Be able to identify and categorize equipment and tools in non‑working areas
  • Cross‑train on all crib duties for both internal and external storage locations
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school Diploma or GED; or 1‑3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Responsible for reading and understanding the TS16949 and ISO‑14001 procedures located at K:/winapps/data/TS Team/Procedures
  • Must have a valid driver license.
  • Must be able to safely operate forklift.
  • Must be able to safely operate overhead cranes.
  • High level of commitment.
  • Ability and willingness to learn.
  • Adaptive to a fast‑paced environment.
  • Bills of Lading knowledge.
  • QAD experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Basic skills:

    ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
