Communication Specialist Overview / Summary The Communication Specialist will serve as the editorial lead for Enterprise Technology (ET) communications, establishing editorial direction, governance standards, and measurement strategies across ET communication channels. This role serves as the central editorial steward and operational owner for ET-wide communication channels while partnering with communicators across decentralized teams to ensure alignment, clarity, and consistency. The role will also lead the adoption of modern, AI-enabled communication tools and promote best practices to maximize audience engagement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities Editorial Leadership & Channel Governance Serve as the Editor-in-Chief for primary ET communication channels, including weekly newsletters, Microsoft Teams, and Viva Engage. Establish publishing schedules and curate high-impact stories. Enforce quality, voice, and narrative standards across communication channels. Define, document, and maintain ET-wide communication, visual, and narrative standards aligned with corporate guidelines. Ensure ET-level messaging reflects modern, audience-first storytelling.

Own the lifecycle, iteration, and maintenance of the channel-recommendation AI assistant. Pilot AI assistant features, gather user feedback, and drive adoption among communicators across ET. Serve as the primary steward for channel usage and guide communicators toward appropriate channels. Maintain channel governance when requests do not align with channel strategy. Analytics, Measurement & Operating Strategy Pull, validate, and analyze readership and engagement data across ET communication channels.

Establish a consistent, unified reporting baseline. Translate engagement metrics into executive-level reporting highlighting audience trends, experimental outcomes, and data-driven recommendations. Collaborate with communicators and stakeholders across ET to reduce communication noise. Optimize shared publishing workflows and improve alignment across distributed teams.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field. 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, editorial management, or internal media channels within a large, matrixed organization. Demonstrated experience establishing editorial guidelines, brand standards, and formal channel governance models. Proven experience evaluating and optimizing multi-channel communication networks and publishing workflows. Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Copilot.

Hands-on experience extracting and analyzing platform analytics, such as SharePoint metrics, Viva Engage analytics, and email campaign metrics. Familiarity with AI tools and workflow-enablement technologies, including testing, prompt refinement, and user adoption. Exceptional editorial and written communication skills. Ability to influence cross-functional peers, challenge assumptions constructively, and present findings to senior leadership. High degree of self-direction and accountability to manage publishing deadlines, maintain operational tools, and lead cross-organizational initiatives independently without direct reports.
