Overview

Metropolitan Behavioral Health (a UHS Facility) – A growing 144‑bed behavioral health facility provides a full continuum of inpatient services for adolescents, adults, and older adults, and performs behavioral health assessments 24‑hours a day. Programs for co‑occurring behavioral health and substance use issues will be offered, and a robust outpatient program utilizes group, family, and individual therapy.

The Admissions Nurse works closely with Intake and unit staff to coordinate the safe and efficient admission of patients. Responsibilities include performing level‑of‑care assessments on walk‑in and direct admit patients, completing intake documentation and consents via the EMR, gathering detailed medical and psychiatric histories, medications, allergies, and legal status, and coordinating with intake, psychiatrists, and unit nurses to ensure proper precautions, documentation, and safe handoffs.

• Perform level‑of‑care assessments on walk‑in and direct admit patients
• Complete intake documentation and consents using the EMR system
• Gather detailed medical and psychiatric histories, current medications, allergies, and legal status
• Coordinate with intake, psychiatrists, and unit nurses to ensure precautions and documentation are in place
• Ensure safe handoff of incoming patients to receiving nurses

Full‑time nights: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.

• Michigan RN license
• Hospital experience required
• Psychiatric hospital experience strongly preferred
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekend rotations
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team
• Experience working with an EMR
