Scope of Work
The Associate Nursing (AN) scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care, incorporating patient‑family center care principles. Under the direct supervision of the nursing leader and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, AN assesses, monitors, detects, plans and takes appropriate action to prevent physiological complications associated with specific health problems and/or medical treatment.
Qualifications- Associate’s Degree from an ACEN‑accredited diploma program.
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.N., M.S.N., D.N.P. or Ph.D.) – if not a minimum BSN, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience must sign an educational contract to complete a BSN within the specified timeframe.
- RN must enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within the next five (5) years (effective April 18, 2023).
- 1 year of relevant acute‑care, emergency, or intensive‑care nursing experience.
- Preferred:
Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Michigan. - On‑hire credentials required:
State‑of‑Michigan driver’s license; BLS certification from AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross;
Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification (Adult Infusion 1year) – ONCC Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation;
On‑hire preferred:
Oncology Certified Nurse – ONCC.
