Quality Assurance Representative

Description

Heidtman Steel Products is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Representative to serve the Eastern US and Canada regions. The QA Rep will be responsible for customer support and communications, including investigating and resolving customer claims; internal quality issues and part evaluations; and assisting with purchasing and production.

• Providing metallurgical and technical service to our customers and acting as the liaison between the Company and the customer
• Investigating customer complaints and/or rejections to determine the root cause and develop corrective actions
• Providing technical support to sales, operations, resource planning, and purchasing
• Conducting new part investigations and working with other departments to complete the contract review process required to successfully launch new business
• Other duties as assigned

• Technical degree and/or experience in steel manufacturing
• Quality Management System experience
• Internal and external audit experience
• Proficient in quality tools, mathematics, and statistics
• Skilled in problem-solving and developing robust preventive actions
• Some overnight travel may be required, depending on customer base being supplied
• Metallography experience is a plus
