Overview
We are the world’s top supplier of automotive test facilities, providing a full range of services to commercial automotive industry customers, including major vehicle providers, OEMs, and the international motorsports community. We are hiring Test Technicians for the Body and Chassis Dyno lab in Dearborn, MI, for the afternoon shift (3:00p.m. – 11:30p.m.). Training occurs on the day shift during the first 6–8 weeks of employment.
Responsibilities- Complete test‑related duties as assigned during daily scheduling meetings.
- Execute work independently with quality and efficiency.
- Receive parts and prepare for first run and subsequent runs according to test matrices.
- Conduct test‑stand sample prep, fixturing, installation/removal, photographic documentation, test execution, data collection, and review.
- Run standard tests and support test engineers for unique one‑off testing in a lab environment.
- Run multiple test facilities simultaneously.
- Meet all workplace health and safety requirements and practices, providing feedback and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and proper data quality.
- Act as a self‑starter, highly motivated, strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Support cross‑training and reassignment to other Building4 department sites or operations as possible.
- High School Diploma required.
- Proficient electrical and mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Good interpersonal, computer, oral, and written skills.
- Associate’s in Automotive Technology or a combination of 2years’ experience and college desirable.
- Previous experience in a testing environment (hydraulic, pneumatic system controller, automotive subsystem familiarization, MTS controller familiarization).
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in vehicle system and subsystem related testing preferred.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in vehicle lab testing preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and PC‑based systems.
- Knowledge of overall vehicle systems (chassis, body, seat, suspension preferred; engine and transmission a plus).
- Fabrication experience (general machine shop: drill press, band saw, grinders, welding, milling).
- Print reading and test fixture layout/build skills.
- Must complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen, health performance evaluation, and background check.
- Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management, and co‑workers.
- Must have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and not impose a safety risk.
