Job Summary
- This position manages an assigned portfolio of core Foremost Independent Agencies, responsible for prospecting and appointing new agencies, driving profitable premium growth, and achieving financial and operational goals. The role develops and manages agency partnerships, serving as the primary relationship between the agency and the company, and promotes the suite of Foremost products and services within the portfolio, which may span multiple states and several hundred storefronts.
- An individual contributor working independently with minimal supervision, mentoring less experienced team members, and performing work with business unit and enterprise impacts. Limited field travel may be required.
- Owns and manages portfolio to drive profitable growth, develops and executes territory tactical plans, and partners with field distribution to achieve targets. Builds and cultivates agency partnerships using a consultative sales framework.
- Creates and implements agency strategies and plans to achieve premium, profit, and new business goals. Aligns strategic components with key business strategies, drives new business flow quality, and manages risk across the portfolio. Utilizes internal reporting, marketing and development programs, and production/profitability data to identify opportunities.
The job is performed in‑person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location, with occasional field work at customer sites. The work environment is indoors and climate‑controlled with typical office distractions. The role may involve sitting or standing for prolonged periods, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, using fine‑motor tasks, and occasional movement such as bending, stooping, and reaching.
EducationRequirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. State insurance license preferred upon hire.
- Minimum five years of experience in insurance distribution.
- Proven record achieving profitable premium growth and sales success.
- Territory management experience preferred.
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location.
- Salary ranges by state (e.g., CA $81,375 – $137,940, CO $76,275 – $119,350, etc.).
