Job Description

This temporary position covers an employee currently on leave through mid-August, with the possibility of extension if the employee does not return. The role involves working in a research library that provides access to scientific and engineering information resources to employees worldwide. The primary focus is on offering information through journals, books, market research, industry standards, databases, and related tools. The library supports professional development and manages three internal databases, including one for internally published reports.

The internal library website and catalog serve as interfaces for employee access, with library staff providing direct support for inquiries and in-depth research.

Responsibilities

+ Manage and provide access to collections of resources such as books, journals, and market research.

+ Oversee the management of internal resources and access to them.

+ Provide information support to users in a corporate or academic library setting.

+ Conduct online training sessions and provide current awareness alerts.

+ Promote library resources through internal events and client sites.

+ Support inquiries and conduct in-depth research for employees.

Essential Skills

+ Master's Degree in Library/Information Science.

+ Strong understanding of engineering/scientific literature databases and industry standards.

+ Minimum of 5 years experience in a corporate or academic library focused on engineering or sciences.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

+ Experience using AI tools.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in engineering or sciences.

+ Experience conducting in-person or online training for library resources.

+ Knowledge of MARC cataloging and online library systems.

+

Experience with website development or maintenance.

+

Experience with Serials Solutions 360 Link product.

Work Environment

This role requires onsite presence 5 days a week, where you will be part of a dynamic environment that supports scientific and engineering information needs through various resources and tools.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Dearborn, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.30 - $40.30/hr.
