Hourly Rate Range: $ 25.00- $27.00
The Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of Security Officers on an assigned shift to ensure the safety and protection of guests, team members, and Hotel property. This position provides direct, hands‑on supervision, training, and support to the security team while responding to and managing incidents as they occur.
ESSENTIAL
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position requires the ability to perform the following essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Supervises, schedules, and directs Security Officers during the assigned shift to ensure adequate coverage of all posts.
- Trains, coaches, and evaluates the performance of Security Officers; provides ongoing feedback and identifies training needs.
- Conducts shift briefings with Security Officers regarding pass‑on information, open incidents, and priorities for the shift.
- Responds to and takes charge of emergency situations, escalating to the Director of Security or hotel management as appropriate, and takes appropriate steps to rectify problems while minimizing Hotel liability.
- Reviews, edits, and approves incident and daily activity reports prepared by Security Officers for accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Conducts and documents regular patrols of hotel property, including guest floors, public areas, back‑of‑house, parking areas, and the perimeter.
- Monitors CCTV and access control systems; investigates and documents unusual activity.
- Assists with investigations of theft, guest complaints, accidents, and other incidents; interviews witnesses and gathers evidence as needed.
- Enforces hotel policies and procedures, including key control, lost and found, and parking/valet security procedures.
- Coordinates with local law enforcement, fire department, and EMS when responding to on‑property incidents.
- Ensures Security Officers report to their posts in proper uniform and equipped with required gear (radios, flashlights, keys, etc.) at the start of each shift.
- Assists the Director of Security with scheduling, payroll administration, and department administrative tasks.
- Maintains department equipment, including radios, vehicles, and safety equipment, reporting maintenance needs as required.
- Greets and welcomes guests in a friendly and courteous manner; remains calm and attentive, especially during heavy Hotel activity and emergencies.
- Performs the duties of a Security Officer as needed to cover staffing gaps.
- Attends and participates in all mandatory meetings and training sessions.
- Keeps the Director of Security promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
