Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

NTB, Inc is a growing family-oriented company that is taking applications for an experienced mechanic for our Lansing Terminal.

An individual in this position will perform all tasks related to tractor maintenance, including servicing, repairing, troubleshooting, and proper billing. This person will also perform other related tasks as necessary to maintain a safe and effective operation of equipment and shop.

• Knowledge in the operation of the equipment needing repair
• Knowledge in the repair of equipment and preventative maintenance procedures
• Knowledge of OSHA and DOT requirements regarding service and repair of equipment
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor
• Ability to lift 100lbs and carry 50lbs on a routine basis to complete the duties listed above
• Ability to crawl, kneel, stoop, bend, crouch, climb, lift, sit, lay on a creeper and maneuver in tight places where physical mobility is required to accomplish the duties listed above
• Ability to climb steps or ladders to enter tractors or trailers or gain access to a location which needs inspection or repair. This would also include moving, cleaning, repairing, adjusting, inspecting or modifying equipment
• Ability to climb scaffolding and work at this elevated position for some time.
• Ability to maneuver the equipment with a tractor, switcher or yard truck.
• Must be an experienced technician or recent graduate of a technical school trained to complete all necessary job functions as listed.
• Must have a valid driver’s license to operate the facility vehicles off complex.
