Journeyman Plumber

A well-respected and growing plumbing company in Livingston County, Michigan is looking to hire a Journeyman Plumber to the team.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing plumbing company that is 100% owned by licensed plumbers. With strong analysis of the population, the housing market, and our activity, we know that we are ready to grow. We are looking for two Journeyman Plumbers to join the team. (Apprentices planning to test and Master Plumbers will also be considered).

The Residential Plumber will diagnose, repair, install, and maintain plumbing systems in occupied homes, remodels, and residential service environments. The right candidate will be comfortable working independently, communicating with homeowners, explaining options, and representing the company professionally in the field.

• Diagnose and repair residential plumbing issues including leaks, clogs, fixture problems, water heaters, sump pumps, drain lines, water lines, and related systems.
• Install, replace, and service fixtures, faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, water heaters, sump pumps, softeners, and other residential plumbing components.
• Perform drain clearing, basic sewer/water line troubleshooting, and general residential service work.
• Read work orders, assess job conditions, identify required materials, and complete assigned jobs efficiently and safely.
• Communicate clearly with homeowners about findings, recommended repairs, pricing/options, and next steps.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and protect the customer’s home while work is being performed.
• Complete accurate documentation, service notes, photos, invoices, and job closeout information.
• Follow all plumbing codes, company standards, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicle cleanliness, and inventory as assigned.
• Work as part of a team while also being able to manage service calls independently.

• Residential plumbing service experience required.
• Michigan Journeyman Plumber license highly preferred; strong senior apprentice-level candidates with proven residential service experience may be considered.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across common residential plumbing systems.
• Ability to communicate professionally with homeowners and team members.
• Valid driver’s license and clean/reliable driving record.
• Ability to pass background check and any required employment screening.
• Ability to lift, carry, kneel, crawl, work in tight spaces, and safely perform physical plumbing work.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Experience with water heaters, tankless systems, sump pumps, water treatment, drain cleaning, and sewer/water line repair.
• Experience using tablets, service software, or digital invoicing/job documentation.
• Sales/service mindset: able to explain repair options without high-pressure tactics.
• Backflow, boiler, gas piping, or additional trade certifications are a plus.

• Operating hours 8am to 4:30pm
• After hours rotation
• Unlimited Overtime

• Base Salary Range for a Journeyman: $30-45/hr (Master will be a higher range)
• Pay increase for On-Call
