Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician position s role supports and oversees repair of Walmart facility refrigeration HVAC equipment by utilizing commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and tools. The technician will work in a fast‑paced, welcoming environment and will use hand tools, digital tools, and power tools to complete jobs.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and tools.
• Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines by following Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 2 years experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I, Type II, or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2–4 years mechanical maintenance or construction experience in commercial HVAC/R and building controls, or related field.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• Experience with rack refrigeration systems.
