Job Summary
Under general direction of the Director/Manager of Plant Operations, or their liaison, responsible and accountable for the operations, maintenance, repair and installation of the plant electrical equipment in a safe, effective, and efficient manner in response to or in support of customer needs.
Monitors and maintains required supplies and tools in a neat and orderly fashion, ensuring proper inventory is maintained, tools are functioning properly and readily accessible and that the work/production areas are clean and neat.
Properly completes work orders, daily timesheets and material request forms on a daily basis.
Range of Pay: $33.40 – $38.11 per hour, based on experience.
Responsibilities- Operate, maintain, repair and install electrical equipment and systems in the hospital according to manufacturer and hospital procedures and policies in accordance with regulatory codes and standards.
- Maintain electrical distribution system including primary and secondary switch gear, motor control centers, main and secondary breakers, and branch circuit breaker panels.
- Perform corrective and preventive work order requests to ensure proper operation of the electrical distribution system.
- Install and repair lighting, low‑voltage devices, clocks, timers, intercoms, nurse call systems, and dietary equipment as requested.
- Assist contractors as necessary.
- Install and maintain dust barriers when performing job duties.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of documented work experience in the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical utility production and distribution systems in a commercial, industrial, or institutional facility.
- Experience with low and medium voltage distribution, motor control centers, etc.
- LIC‑Electrical Journeyman License – State of Michigan.
