Location:

Genesee County, MI (Will be traveling in-state)
** Pay Rate: **$19-20/hour

Most likely 1st shift, some 2nd shift depending on project

We’re looking for a motivated, dependable Level 1 Cable Installer to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in structured cabling and network installation. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians to install, route, and terminate low-voltage cabling in commercial and industrial environments.

If someone just wants a paycheck, they won’t last here. This role requires attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to work in physically demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities Assist with installation of structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic)
Pull, route, and secure cable through ceilings, walls, and conduit

Label and organize cables according to company and client standards

Assist with cable terminations, testing, and troubleshooting

Read and follow basic blueprints, floor plans, and schematics

Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites

Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment properly

Follow all safety guidelines and OSHA requirements

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Required Qualifications High school diploma or GEDValid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or lifts

Comfortable working in construction-like environments (dust, noise, tight spaces)
Basic understanding of tools and willingness to learn technical skills

Strong work ethic and reliability (showing up on time is non-negotiable)

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
Previous construction, electrical, or low-voltage experience

Basic knowledge of networking concepts

Experience with cable termination or testing toolsOSHA 10 certification
