Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Dearborn, MI.
You will make an impact in the following ways:
Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
Maintain own tools
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Completes complex internal engine repairs
- Performs engine overhauls unassisted
- Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
- Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses,Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Michigan State Certification in HDT Engine Repair – Diesel (Required)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
QualificationsShift Hours - 9am to 5pm
Must have Michigan State Certification in HDT Engine Repair - Diesel
- - This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
- - A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- - Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
