Senior Information Technology Engineer

Overview

Akkodis is seeking a Senior IT Engineer for a Contract role with a client in Dearborn, MI (Onsite). We’re looking for an applicant with experience in REST API development, Dev Ops practices, cloud technologies (GCP is preferred (AWS or Azure acceptable)), Python, data analytics, and exposure to AI/ML.

• Experience in Creating Python APIs and general RESTful API development.
• Experience in Windows automation and Ethernet frameworks.
• Experience in Creating / Accessing REST APIs for data monitoring and manipulation across various systems.
• Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud tools:
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
  Terraform (essential), GCP Deployment Manager

• Backend:
  Node.js (Express.js) or Python Frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI).
• Databases: SQL (Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL, Cloud SQL) and No
  
  SQL (Firestore).
• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) Integration.
• Experience working with Github, JIRA and CI/CD Pipelines (Git Actions, Jenkins).
• Solid understanding of software configuration management systems and source code version control systems (Git).
• Familiarity with test processes and test strategies including the generation of meaningful test metrics.
• Strong communication skills to gather requirements from the development teams and to train the teams in the workflow and processes.
• Familiarity with making changes in the test automation framework.
• Containerization (Docker) experience.

• We’re looking for a strong developer with hands-on experience in Python, mandatory REST API development, and data analytics, along with proven experience building cloud-based applications.
• GCP is preferred (AWS or Azure acceptable). The role requires the ability to drive development efforts, support team validation tools, and contribute to ongoing backend and frontend expansion.
• Experience with C# UI development and AI/ML is a plus but not required.
