Mainframe Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe Developer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. Candidate must have strong expertise in full‑stack software engineering to design, build, and maintain applications across the entire development lifecycle.

Rate Range: $60/hour to $65/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Design and develop software applications across the full lifecycle, ensuring solutions meet customer needs and functional requirements.
• Create high‑level architecture designs and select suitable technology stacks, integration patterns, and deployment strategies.
• Implement and test software components using JCL, COBOL, DB2, and other mainframe technologies to support business processes.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and architects to deliver user‑centric, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Define and execute test strategies, establish coding standards, and ensure adherence to quality and security best practices.
• Continuously optimize performance, integrate emerging technologies, and improve development efficiency through CI/CD practices.

• Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• Candidate must have 6 years in IT and 4 years in development, as defined by the client.
• Having strong proficiency in mainframe technologies including JCL, COBOL, DB2, and related debugging skills.
• Candidate must have hands‑on experience working with mainframe systems tools such as ISPF, File Manager, CA7, Syncsort, and sFTP.
