• As a Senior Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing solutions on the IBM Sterling Order Management System (OMS)
• You will work on business-critical order management capabilities that support end-to-end commerce journeys, including order capture, sourcing, fulfillment orchestration, inventory visibility, payments, cancellations, returns/exchanges, and customer care workflows.
• Your work will directly contribute to building reliable and scalable OMS capabilities that meet demanding performance and operational expectations.
• A major part of this role involves configuring and extending OMS core modules
  , implementing customized flows and integrations, and ensuring solutions are built with quality and operability in mind. You will also contribute to advanced customizations for Sterling Order Hub and Sterling Next Gen Call Center

• This role requires strong collaboration skills. You will partner with cross-functional teams (product, architecture, QA, platform/operations, and other engineering squads) to translate business requirements into well-structured technical solutions.

• Design, develop, and implement solutions using IBM Sterling OMS to support enterprise order management needs.
• Configure and customize OMS core capabilities including:
  • Participant Modeling
  • Process Modeling (Sales, Returns & Exchanges, Purchase/Drop Ship, Transfer Orders)
  • Sourcing
  • Payment Processing
  • Inventory Management
  • Agents
    , event-driven automation, and background processes
  • SDF
    , Catalog, Pricing/Repricing, and tax-related recalculations (as applicable)
• Develop and enhance customizations for Sterling Order Hub and Sterling Next Gen Call Center
  , including workflows, screens, and user experience improvements aligned to business needs.
• Build and maintain integrations with internal and external services using REST APIs and JSON-based contracts; ensure robustness, backward compatibility, and clear versioning practices.
• Perform deep troubleshooting and root cause analysis across functional and technical issues; drive fixes that address underlying problems rather than symptoms.
• Optimize solution performance and stability through careful design, efficient query/integration patterns, and proactive technical improvements.
• Uphold and advocate for engineering best practices:
  • Clean architecture and readable, maintainable code
  • Strong unit testing and testable design
  • Peer reviews and shared coding standards
  • Secure coding practices and compliance with organizational quality/security checks (including security and dependency/license scanning expectations)
• Contribute to technical design discussions, document key decisions, and support knowledge sharing across the team.

• 7-10 years of hands-on IBM Sterling OMS development/implementation experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in OMS functional and technical areas, particularly around orchestration workflows and core OMS modules.
• Strong hands-on development skills in Core Java (modern Java versions; advanced concepts preferred).
• Strong experience with RESTful services

• Solid working knowledge of SQL and data troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals: OOP, design principles, debugging, performance considerations, and code maintainability.
• Demonstrated commitment to code quality and unit testing (e.g., JUnit/Mockito or equivalent testing frameworks).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across teams.

• Experience with Spring Boot or similar frameworks for building supporting services.

• Familiarity with containerized development concepts (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD fundamentals.
