A highly motivated SDV Platform Architect will play a pivotal role in developing cutting‑edge software platforms that enable software‑defined vehicles (SDV). The role involves designing and configuring the core software components of a vehicle’s operating system to ensure reliability, safety, security, and performance across diverse hardware platforms.
What You'll Do- Architect and configure the bedrock of SDV Platform systems, developing requirements that span all vehicle onboard modules. Create a hardware‑agnostic platform solution that works for uC and uP modules, including OS (hard and soft time) integration.
- Benchmark industry middleware solutions and configure BSW and AUTOSAR Classic/Adaptive (and compatible open‑source alternatives) components such as SOVD, watchdog, and NVM to meet safety, security, stability, reliability, and performance goals.
- Design common services for cross‑domain applications and create a platform that is configurable across multi‑variant vehicles.
- Master debugging and problem‑solving: troubleshoot low‑level processor resets and software issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
- Optimize performance through strategic distribution of runnables across processor cores to maximize efficiency.
- Integrate custom device drivers and partner‑built platform software into the platform.
- Analyze and troubleshoot vehicle/powertrain behavior, determine root causes, validate corrective actions, and develop preventative measures.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- 5 years of experience testing/debugging automotive embedded systems and generating a real‑time environment (RTE).
- 5 years of Embedded C experience.
- 1+ year of Python and Rust scripting experience.
- 2 years of modeling, simulation, and testing.
- 2 years of AUTOSAR Classic/Adaptive or open‑source BSW configuration or BSW/CDD development.
- 2+ years working with compilers, makefiles, software build, and CI automation.
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience distributing tasks and measuring CPU load in multicore architectures.
- Ability to train team on macSec configuration.
- macSec/Ethernet industry experience and proficiency in configuring, testing, and debugging macSec components.
- Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodology.
- Experience working cross‑functionally.
- Prior knowledge of building an SDV platform for vehicles.
- Experience with configuration‑as‑code.
- Immediate medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage.
- Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new‑parent ramp‑up programs, and subsidized backup child care.
- Family‑building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more.
- Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases.
- Tuition assistance.
- Active employee resource groups.
- Paid time off for individual and team community service.
- Generous paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
- Option to purchase additional vacation time.
