Vehicle Software & Systems Validation Engineer

Location: Dearborn, MI

Pay: Starting at $42.31+ per hour

Schedule: Fully Onsite

We are seeking a Vehicle Software & Systems Validation Engineer to support the testing and validation of advanced automotive software, embedded systems, and connected vehicle features. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional with experience in software testing, vehicle validation, and root cause analysis within an Agile development environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and system-level testing for vehicle software and embedded systems.
  • Perform hands‑on validation in vehicles, laboratories, and test bench environments.
  • Analyze software logs, test data, and system performance to identify issues and determine root causes.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python and related testing tools.
  • Document test results, defects, and corrective actions using JIRA and test management platforms.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and feature engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Support test planning, release validation, requirements traceability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain test vehicles, laboratory equipment, and validation environments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in automotive software testing, systems validation, or embedded systems development.
  • Experience with Python scripting, software testing, defect tracking, and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Test automation and automated scripting
  • CANalyzer, CANoe, API testing, and data analysis
  • JIRA, Jama, Test Rail, Git, and CI/CD tools
  • ADAS, infotainment, OTA updates, and vehicle network systems
  • Knowledge of automotive standards such as ISO 26262 and ASPICE
