Training schedule is Monday - Friday 05:00am to 16:00pm
Role DescriptionThe Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based in Dearborn, MI. This position is responsible for coordinating daily truck routes, assigning drivers, and scheduling pickups and deliveries to ensure efficient use of resources. The Dispatcher monitors driver locations and load statuses, responds to delays or issues, and updates schedules as needed. Daily tasks include load planning, communicating with drivers, customers, and internal teams by phone, email, and dispatch systems;
maintaining accurate records of trips and loads; and verifying that all documentation is complete. The role also involves addressing service inquiries, supporting compliance with company policies and transportation regulations, and assisting with basic administrative or reporting tasks related to fleet operations.
- Experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation operations, preferably in trucking or freight.
- Strong communication skills, including clear phone etiquette and concise written communication.
- Ability to use dispatch or routing software, GPS tracking tools, and standard office applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets).
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when recording trip information, schedules, and documentation.
- Problem-solving skills to manage route changes, delays, and unplanned issues while maintaining service levels.
- Knowledge of basic transportation terminology and an understanding of safety and regulatory considerations is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in logistics or transportation is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Dearborn, MI, including occasional overtime or flexible hours as operational needs require.
