Summary/Objective

Accounting position that is integral to the accurate and timely review, recording and analysis of transactions that record the financial results of the company. The incumbent has the educational background and experience to ensure that the books and records are free from material misstatement and present fairly the results of the Company’s operations.

NOTE:

This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days in office.

Essential Functions
  • Administers accounting for an assigned financial area of the accounting department
  • Performs general ledger reconciliations and creates journal entries to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded
  • Creates reports for management using ERP system, Microsoft Excel, and business intelligence software to audit activity, analyzing financial data, identifying variances to budget and prior year
  • Supports locations providing accounting assistance to business managers and administrators, educating them on policy and procedures
  • Performs other job-specific duties as outlined below:
  • Main contact for field and auditors on asset and equipment additions, transfers, and disposals
  • Maintains asset database; trains users, develops reports, and determines and updates database fields as needed
  • Provides monthly information to Finance leadership about status of capital spending, open projects, cash flows and other measures of activity related to capital spending
  • Maintains organized master asset list and communicates changes to staff involved
  • Keeps track of pending CIP projects and usage
  • Participates during budgeting for capital project and asset expense
  • May travel for asset and equipment audits and training
  • Responsible for capital and operating leases, including contract interpretation, entering and terminating leases, and month end reconciliation
  • Prepares, analyzes, and audits property taxes for total company
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in the private sector; may be offset by comparable experience
  • SAGE FAS experience preferred
  • Merchant and Vanguard experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Outstanding customer service with a commitment to teamwork and continuous learning; shows strong initiative and a dedication to excellence
  • Solid accounting experience with high attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) with advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate to address concerns and questions of managers
  • Ability to frequently use judgment in the application of accounting/tax rules, as well as Company policy
  • Ability to uphold company guidelines related to asset accounting in a fast-moving environment
  • Current driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy
