SUMMARY:

  • Provides clerical assistance that contributes to the effective operation of the office by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Enter information into a computer using the keyboard.
  • Prepare correspondence or other documents.
  • Count or measure materials.
  • Sort and file records.
  • Assist visitors.
  • Photocopy documents.
  • Answer telephone calls, screen calls, and route accordingly.
NON
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of two years of post-secondary or equivalent coursework.
LANGUAGE

SKILLS:

  • Must be bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL

SKILLS:

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in a standardized situation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • Frequently, it is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Must occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
