SUMMARY:
- Provides clerical assistance that contributes to the effective operation of the office by performing the following duties.
- Enter information into a computer using the keyboard.
- Prepare correspondence or other documents.
- Count or measure materials.
- Sort and file records.
- Assist visitors.
- Photocopy documents.
- Answer telephone calls, screen calls, and route accordingly.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two years of post-secondary or equivalent coursework.
SKILLS:
- Must be bilingual (English and Spanish).
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
SKILLS:
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in a standardized situation.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
- Frequently, it is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Must occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
