Plant Safety Operations Lead

In this position, you will lead efforts to enhance safety practices across plant operations, ensuring compliance with EH&S regulations while improving workplace safety culture. You will work closely with plant leadership, frontline employees, and safety teams to identify risks, implement solutions, and maintain a proactive safety environment.

As part of the Fort Saskatchewan Path2

Zero (P2Z) initiative, you will contribute to Dow's decarbonization strategy by ensuring safe and sustainable operational practices.

• Oversees the execution of EH&S programs on a daily basis, following established processes, policies, and safety standards.
• Ensures operating discipline aligns with environmental, industrial hygiene, and safety goals, implementing necessary safeguards.
• Acts as a key resource for plant personnel regarding EH&S regulations, procedures, and best practices.
• Serves as the primary liaison for environmental, industrial hygiene, and health & safety matters within the facility.
• Provides coaching and mentorship on EH&S protocols to teams and individuals.
• Supports the development and achievement of plant-specific EH&S performance objectives.
• Ensures all required compliance activities are completed on schedule.
• Conducts environmental and industrial hygiene assessments, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.

• EH&S Implementation:
  Apply extensive knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety to integrate and sustain EH&S work processes, while driving continual improvements through detailed investigations and corrective follow-up.
• Workload Management:
  Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks, balancing multiple responsibilities while ensuring stakeholder expectations are met.
• Change Facilitation:
  Actively lead and engage in the change management work process for EH&S initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions.
• Safety Leadership:
  Skilled in quickly addressing unsafe situations, intervening as needed, and providing mentorship on maintaining safe working conditions.
• Comprehensive Communication:
  Adept at all forms of communication;verbal, written, visual, and digital;ensuring clarity and professionalism in all interactions.
• Collaboration:
  
  Highly collaborative, working effectively with teams to reach common objectives.

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in EH&S, OH&S, or a related discipline.
• Legal work authorization in Canada is required for this position. Visa sponsorship or support is not available.

• This position is based in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada.
