Position: Computer Information System Instructor "Jefferson/Shelby Campuses"

Salary

Salary: Based on education and experience, commensurate with the Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule D1 ($46,590–$94,363). This is a nine‑month position. Summer employment may be available (an additional $14,384–$29,184) dependent upon enrollment.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction in the appropriate teaching environment(s) and evaluate student learning.

Prepare class and laboratory presentations.

Participate in curriculum development and evaluation and recommend new or revised curriculum.

Provide academic advising to students.

Perform department/program responsibilities.

Perform institutional responsibilities that contribute to the fulfillment of the college’s mission.

Follow institutional policies and procedures and fulfill the terms of employment.

Commitment to teaching, to helping students, an abiding interest in their field, and a desire to help the college maintain the standards appropriate to an institution of higher education.

Maintain rapport with colleagues and students and conduct oneself with a high level of professionalism.

Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the President or academic dean.

Education and Experience

Education: Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Computer Science required.

Experience: Three to five years of professional experience preferred.

Current knowledge in Computer Information Systems, preferably Computer Programming
Python Programming
Enterprise Virtualization
Cloud Computing Concepts
Data Analytics
Artificial Intelligence
Secure (Defensive) Programming Techniques
Operating Systems (Windows, Linux/Unix, Macintosh)
Database design and development (SQL, Oracle)
Systems analysis and design
Computer hardware configuration and troubleshooting
Microsoft Office
Web assisted instruction using Canvas
Experience with Strongly‑Typed languages
Experience with Loosely‑Typed languages
Swift certification

Background Check
