Qualifications:

• Active Alabama Special Education Teaching certification (required for interviews)
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field
• Previous experience working with students with varying exceptionalities preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Flexibility and adaptability within dynamic educational settings

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction to students with special needs in both group and individualized settings
• Develop, update, and implement IEPs in collaboration with parents, support staff, and multidisciplinary teams
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages academic and personal growth
• Communicate regularly with families, staff, and administration to promote student success
• Maintain accurate records and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
