Mechanical Engineer III

Range : $50-$65 an hour - Contract for 3-6 months
Role and Responsibilities:
As an Engineer Level III , you will execute and review moderately complex engineering assignments, ensuring deliverables are technically sound, compliant with applicable codes and standards, and completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.
The role requires strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and effective coordination with internal disciplines, clients, and contractors throughout the project life cycle.
- Perform field-based engineering support at client facilities, including data collection, equipment walkdowns, and verification of existing conditions.
- Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation (calculations, specifications, drawings, vendor submittals) in accordance with company and client standards, ensuring accurate electronic filing.
- Review engineering documents, vendor submittals, fabrication drawings, and construction submittals for compliance with design documents, specifications, applicable codes, and project objectives.
- Develop scope and cost estimates for field projects and modifications, supporting proposals, budgeting, and change management.
- Initiate and track purchase requisitions for equipment, components, and field-installed materials and services.
- Plan and support construction and maintenance activities at client sites, including constructability reviews, job plan input, and coordination of field priorities and access.
- Interface regularly with client operations and maintenance personnel to understand equipment or system performance issues, support troubleshooting, and recommend corrective and reliability improvements.
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Experience with CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo, etc.)
- Basic familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software ( for reviewing purposes , not heavy design)
- Field-based industrial engineering experience
- Engineering document preparation and review experience
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Project scoping, estimating, and procurement support experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
