Summary:
The Engineering Manager will oversee engineering teams and projects across Yates organization, managing multiple sites and engineering departments. The responsibility and focus on aligning engineering efforts with the company's broader strategic goals, improving operational efficiency, and fostering innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams, often across different locations.
- Align engineering strategies with corporate objectives.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
- Ensure that projects meet technical specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Oversee and work with each divisions QC program.
- Synchronize divisional quality processes so that we are ISO compliant and / or working under ISO umbrella.
- Provide data around division metrics and trends with quality. (i.e., cost of quality, cost of warranty, non-conformances, etc.)
- Work with other departments (R&D, manufacturing, product development, etc.) to ensure smooth integration of engineering solutions.
- Liaise with senior executives to report on progress and discuss strategies.
- Manage the budget for engineering departments and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Allocate resources (personnel, technology, etc.) to optimize project outcomes.
- Ensure that engineering processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Implement and monitor quality control measures.
- Recruit, train, and develop engineering talent.
- Mentor team members and foster a collaborative, innovative working environment.
Skills Required:
- Leadership & Communication:
Ability to lead diverse teams and communicate with various stakeholders. - Project Management:
Experience with managing large, complex engineering projects. - Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of the engineering discipline relevant to the industry. - Financial Acumen:
Budgeting, cost management, and resource allocation skills. - Problem-Solving & Innovation:
Ability to troubleshoot, innovate, and improve processes.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel, Internet Explorer, Made2
Manage, Solid Works, PDM, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Outlook.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma and associate degree with 3 - 5 years' experience with design software or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Training:
Vocational school training in a related field
