Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Terracon is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in the Gulf Coast Region, based in our Mobile, AL office. The role involves leading geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design across transportation, energy, industrial, and public infrastructure projects.

• Lead and manage geotechnical investigations, including field investigations and laboratory testing.
• Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and design, and prepare related reports, plans, and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules, guidelines, and project standards.
• Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate and supervise field staff, including engineers, technicians, and laboratory personnel.
• Serve as a technical advisor to junior-level project team members.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, support proposals and business development, and guide project teams through complex challenges.
• Track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and recommend changes to improve project performance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) status required, with ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
• Valid driver’s license; acceptable driving record may be required.

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
