This opportunity is about helping shape how complex heavy industrial steel projects are delivered from model through fabrication and into the field.
An established heavy industrial contractor is looking to add a Senior / Lead Tekla Detailer to its structural steel detailing team following the departure of a long‑serving team member.
The business delivers self‑performed structural steel fabrication alongside a broad range of industrial construction services across sectors including power generation, petrochemical, heavy manufacturing, steel production, and industrial processing.
With continued investment in its fabrication facilities, automation, and production capabilities, they're looking for someone who can become a key technical resource within a small, experienced detailing team.
You’ll work closely with detailing, engineering, fabrication, project management, and field operations, ensuring accurate models and drawings support efficient fabrication and successful project delivery.
This isn’t simply a detailing position. It is an opportunity to work on complex industrial projects where your technical expertise has a direct impact on the shop floor and in the field.
What You’ll Be Doing- Build and maintain detailed 3D models using Tekla Structures
- Produce fabrication drawings, erection drawings, bills of material, and CNC files
- Generate and manage RFIs throughout project delivery
- Coordinate with engineering on connections, revisions, and project changes
- Work closely with fabrication teams to resolve production issues and improve efficiency
- Maintain drawing revisions and document control
- Support detailing standards and quality across the department
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, fabrication, and field teams throughout project execution
- 5+ years of Tekla Structures detailing experience
- Strong heavy industrial structural steel detailing background
- Thorough understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
- Experience managing RFIs and coordinating with multiple project stakeholders
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with AISC fabrication, Power Fab, or AutoCAD is beneficial but not essential
