Position Summary
Responsible for performing Functional Test Procedure (FTP), Pre & Post Flight inspection, and preparing built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness. Tasks include operating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting aircraft systems using approved aircraft data. Proficiently operate and understand a wide variety of test equipment and tooling, interpret technical manuals, drawings, and engineering data, and complete assigned tasks within budget while meeting safety, quality, and cost guidelines.
Responsibilities- Perform aircraft system Functional Test Procedure (FTP) / Pre / Post flight inspections.
- Prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness, including daily inspection (DI) checklists.
- Learn new tasks and techniques for troubleshooting aircraft systems and support Flight line operation at Airbus FAL Mobile Flight line Organization.
- Follow level 1 troubleshooting procedures, document findings, and report per guidelines.
- Execute integrated systems testing, calibration, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair of airborne electronic flight control, navigation, and heading systems.
- Conduct pre‑test, operational (functional), and final testing of electronic systems, components or subassemblies, including final tuning, alignment, or calibration.
- Perform post‑dock maintenance daily checklists; oversee safety, security, and incoming inspections.
- Carry out day‑to‑day planned and unplanned aircraft maintenance family tasks.
- Execute pre‑induction first flight configuration and incoming inspection of cabin interior, cockpit, and electronic bays to ensure safety before first flight.
- Set up and operate ground support and test equipment to perform functional flight tests of electrical and electronic systems.
- Test and troubleshoot instruments, components, and assemblies using circuit testers or voltmeters.
- Verify and upgrade aircraft avionics software to the latest version.
- Collaborate with systems engineers to interpret flight test data and diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problems.
- Maintain close working relationships with assigned lead person regarding schedules, priorities, availability of parts, supplies, tools, and special instructions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years relevant experience or 3 years experience with Applied Science in Avionics, A&P, or FCC license.
- Minimum 5 years aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or MRO environment.
- Ability to obtain Repairman Certificate and Valid Driver License; must possess or obtain a valid passport for unrestricted travel.
- Preferred valid A&P or FCC license; knowledge of EASA/TCCA Regulations.
- Travel: 5% domestic and international.
- Personal Protective Equipment: required as per job demands.
- Vision: able to see and utilize computer screens.
- Hearing: able to hear normal conversations and respond to warnings and signals.
- Speaking: able to participate in normal business conversations.
- Equipment Operation: able to operate standard office equipment, ground support equipment, and man lifts.
- Carrying: able to carry up to 40 lbs./18 kg.
- Lifting: able to lift up to 40 lbs/18 kg on occasion.
- Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull up to 500 lbs on wheels.
- Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Squatting/Kneeling: able to squat/kneel occasionally.
- Standing: able to stand for long periods of time.
- Travel: able to travel domestically and/or internationally for training and offsite aircraft recovery.
- Walking: able to walk through office and production areas sometimes on uneven surfaces.
- Climate: able to work in various weather conditions.
