Position OverviewThe Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems for commercial building projects to ensure performance, safety, and code compliance. The role utilizes CAD software, including AutoCAD and Micro Station, to produce accurate electrical drawings and layouts. The engineer works with stakeholders to identify and resolve electrical system issues, applies electrical theory, codes, and industry standards, and collaborates with mechanical and structural teams to ensure successful system integration and project execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Designing and testing electrical systems for commercial buildings.
- Using CAD software (AutoCAD and Micro Station) for design and layout.
- Identifying and resolving issues within electrical systems.
- Applying electrical theory, codes, and industry standards.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to integrate electrical systems with mechanical and structural components.
- BS in Electrical Engineering.
Pre‑employment drug screening and background check are required. If applicable, appropriate security clearance and access to military installations may be required.
Physical RequirementsMust be able to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co‑workers and clients. Duties may require bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods; frequent opportunities to move about and work outside the office for extended periods involving extreme heat, cold, wind, rain; walking over rough and uneven surfaces; routine lifting of up to 35 pounds.
Must properly use personal protective equipment such as hard hats, steel‑toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.
Job performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. Office setting includes exposure to computer screens and extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold, and potentially wildlife. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
