We are seeking a Process Engineer to provide technical service to an assigned unit within a chemical manufacturing environment, monitoring daily unit operations and identifying opportunities to improve quality, reduce costs, enhance safety, and lower emissions. This role develops and conducts tests to evaluate proposed operating changes, investigates the feasibility of new technology and capacity changes, and provides technical support for PSM/RMP and other regulatory programs.

Full time. Shifts may run up to 12 hours, with regular stair climbing and physical activity required on the plant floor.

This role offers a base salary of $86,000 to $110,000 per year, along with a sign on bonus, annual bonus, and relocation assistance.

The Process Engineer is responsible for the technical and economic aspects of process unit operations, providing technical support for the maintenance of existing equipment and improving present processes for more efficient, cost effective operation. This person designs and documents chemical processes and equipment selection for the development and scale up of new products from development to production, coordinating efforts with colleagues and management to achieve department objectives.

The role writes procedures and provides training for the safe operation of new equipment, selects equipment and control devices to enhance process control, and performs leadership duties on selected projects including planning, activity coordination, and progress reporting.

This person supervises technicians as required, collaborates with the unit team to prepare the annual control budget and operating reviews, and investigates production, safety, environmental, or quality issues. The Process Engineer maintains awareness of pertinent modern technologies, directs coordination between engineering and production to maximize equipment uptime and quality, and establishes engineering and maintenance cost savings techniques while maintaining a safe and environmentally sound working environment.

The role interfaces regularly with other engineers and managers, assists with adherence to regulatory agency requirements, and provides troubleshooting and design improvements to optimize operations and reduce costs.

• BS in Chemical Engineering
• Chemical process experience in manufacturing, petrochemicals, or a related industry
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, maintain good mobility, and work extended shifts of up to 12 hours, including climbing stairs multiple times per shift

• 10+ years of experience as a Process Engineer in a chemical or petroleum manufacturing environment
