Asset & Capital Accountant

Performs general accounting duties, including end of month, quarterly and annual reporting, journal entries, depreciation projections, ISO document compliance review, cash flow analysis, and maintain project expense documentation. Maintains fixed asset register and conducts annual physical inventory.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field is required.
• Significant accounting and business administration work experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

• Must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Access.

• Reconcile end of month accounting for capital projects.
• Reconcile year end closing for capital projects.
• Reconcile and maintain project expense account.
• Perform cash flow analysis for capital projects.
• Perform analytical closeout information to ensure monthly closeouts.
• Develop monthly manual journal entries.
• Reconcile end of project for all capital projects.
• Tracks, administers, reports on, and prompts required actions on project expense spending.
• Work with maintenance administrator for cost reconciliation of SDM and year end activities.
• Maintain ISO compliance for controlled documents.
• Support ISO, compliance, JSOX and financial audits.
• Assist with external financial audits of capital projects.
• Present financial health report of capitals during capital meetings.
• Develop monthly reports of Project Engineering’s invoices that are past due to report to manager.
• Set up new fixed assets as projects are closed.
• Dispose of fixed assets as required.
• Train counters and manage the annual fixed asset inventory.
• Help maintain department policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
• Ensures optimum performance of assigned functions. Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.
• Keep abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise.
• Assumes other special activities and responsibilities as directed.
• Additional assignments as deemed necessary by management.
