Must have completed Behavior Specialist / ABA Therapy training and have a minimum 1+ years Behavior Therapy experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school-based Behavior Specialist is needed to support students with diverse behavioral needs in Decatur, AL. This contract position offers an opportunity to work closely with children across a wide range of ages and severities, providing essential behavioral interventions under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement behavioral intervention plans developed by BCBA supervisors.
- Provide direct one-on-one or small group behavioral support.
- Collect and document data to track student progress and inform supervision.
- Collaborate with educators and BCBA to enhance student outcomes.
- Participate in required meetings, supervision sessions, and team collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Must hold an active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification; expired certifications will not be accepted.
- Flexibility to work with students of all age groups and behavioral severities.
- Ability to adapt to different school schedules and locations as assigned.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Availability for approximately 35 hours per week, plus up to 5 additional hours for BCBA supervision and meetings.
Schedule Information:
- Elementary: 8:00 AM 2:30 PM
- Junior High/Middle School: 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
- All Grades AAA/ASFL Programs: 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
- High School: 8:30 AM 3:40 PM
- Contract staff typically starts 15 minutes prior to student arrival.
This is a backfill position starting as soon as possible and continuing through May 22, 2026.
