The Health Instructional Coordinator is responsible for assisting with programmatic accreditation activities within the Health Sciences Division. This position assists the Dean of Health Sciences with the development and submission of new program applications for approval by the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) Board of Trustees, the Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

The Coordinator also serves as project manager for Health Sciences–specific projects at the request of the Dean.

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and must submit a complete application packet through the on-line application system to be considered. A complete application consists of the following:

Application materials must provide documentation that the applicant meets all minimum qualifications.

  • Assist with programmatic accreditation activities for Health Sciences programs, ensuring compliance with accrediting agencies’ standards, policies, and timelines.
  • Maintain current knowledge of programmatic accreditation requirements and assist program directors in preparing self-studies, annual reports, and documentation for site visits.
  • Serve as liaison between the College, accrediting bodies, and program directors to facilitate effective communication and timely submission of materials.
  • Assist the Dean with the preparation and submission of new program applications, substantive change requests, and related documentation for ACCS, ACHE, and SACSCOC.
  • Assist with procurement, compilation, organization and analysis of data and supporting materials for program assessment and reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor accreditation tracking systems to ensure continuous compliance and readiness for review.
  • Prepare written correspondence, reports, meeting summaries, and project updates as directed.
  • Assist program directors with coordinating meetings, maintaining project timelines, and following up on action items related to accreditation and program development.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to support the development and continuous improvement of Health Sciences programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to accreditation, personnel, and institutional data.
  • Assist with research and data collection to support program evaluation and institutional effectiveness.
  • Utilize technology and database systems (such as Banner, ARGOS, or Excel) to manage, analyze, and report information.
  • Perform duties with professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree in a health-related field, education, or a closely related discipline
    is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in higher education, healthcare administration, or project management
    is required.
  • Experience with accreditation processes or compliance documentation preferred.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate through their experiences and accomplishments:

  • Ability to utilize Excel or other database software (such as Access) to enter, format, sort and analyze information and prepare reports.
  • Ability to utilize Word or other word processing tools to prepare and communicate information.
  • Knowledge of community college policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Banner or a related program.
  • Knowledge of rules of grammar.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of FERPA.
  • Skill in operating a mouse to control a computer.
