The mission of the Decatur–Morgan County Chamber of Commerce is to advance business and strengthen commerce across the region through dedicated volunteer leadership in economic, political, and social development. Established in 1931 by the late Barrett

C. Shelton, the Chamber has long served as a trusted advocate and catalyst for the business community. Today, it represents approximately 800 member businesses and industries, the majority of which are small to mid‑sized enterprises that form the backbone of the local economy.

Grounded in the belief that a strong business climate is essential to a thriving community, the Chamber delivers programs and services designed to support business growth, improve operational excellence, foster professional development, and champion sound public policy.

The President & CEO of the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce serves as the chief executive officer of the 501c6 organization and is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Chamber. Reporting to and guided by policies established by the Board of Directors, the President & CEO ensures the effective, efficient, and mission-driven management of all day-to-day operations.
