Job Description
Haul Truck Operator – Steel Mill (Decatur, AL)
Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 PM–6:30 AM (12-hour nights)
Overtime: Typically required on Fridays or weekends as needed
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Haul Truck Operator to join our team at a large steel mill in Decatur, Alabama. This position supports mill operations by safely transporting raw materials and finished product throughout the facility using heavy haul trucks and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate haul trucks and heavy equipment in a high-activity industrial setting
- Move materials between designated areas throughout the steel mill
- Follow all on-site safety protocols, traffic patterns, and PPE requirements
- Complete pre- and post-shift equipment inspections and report issues promptly
- Assist with general labor or support tasks to maintain workflow as needed
- Work efficiently during a 12-hour night shift and remain alert at all times
- Experience operating haul trucks or heavy equipment (industrial, construction, or mining) preferred
- Strong safety mindset and ability to follow directions
- Capability to work long shifts and required overtime
- Consistent Monday–Thursday night shift schedule
- Overtime typically required on Fridays or weekends based on production needs

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Decatur, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
